I have not tried Zapalitto del Tronco. Good to know! SVB usually get my summer squash by now. So far they are going strong. Would not surprise me if any day now I find the plants looking deflated. I have killed several SVB and destroyed eggs. I have found they don't seem to bother the...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

I need to do a reorganization and clean out of some things too. My problem is I get too sentimental about too many things. I have started working on this some. Starting with the "junky" stuff that's easy to rehome or trash. Now when I get to the dishes I'm going to have problems. The stuff...

Picked another watermelon, 4 canteloupe, cucumbers, a few tomatoes and lots more yellow squash and zucchini yesterday. It would be ok if the squash slowed down now. 😜 We are in another bad spell with heat. It is like an oven outside. Yesterday was in the mid-90s and the heat index reached...

My hen Dixie crowed one morning. Caught me quite by surprise. Dixie was an old gal and had special needs. She moved slowly due to an old injury in the hip joint. I believe this eventually led to arthritis as she aged. She did not do well in excessive heat or cold so she became a part time...

Wellll....kind of...sort of...maybe??? No. I was not believing it at all !!! When winter starts, I predict a bad case of chick withdrawl. So you can just stop all at once. You must taper off gradually. :)

Picked early yesterday. It was hot and very humid. A lot of this will be shared. The chickens will get some too. I think I must have missed these at my last picking. 🙃

I have 2 girls 14 weeks old with beautiful saddle feathers. :love 🤣 The third decided a couple days ago he is a boy. I heard 1 crow. Now to figure out who?? I'm sure the crowing contests will begin soon. 🫣 I've not heard a crow from my yard in 2 years. Love having it back again!

Good advice! I almost killed a nice variable speed drill once. I had a buffing pad attachment. Used it to buff out the boat after I waxed it. Boat looked great but I came close to destroying the drill. Thankfully I noticed it heating up and stopped! Live and learn.

Fortunately not near me in Edgecombe Co. We did have flood watches this past week. When they issue those watches I always watch the river level. We have a large creek across the road that is usually a gentle stream. Too much rain it comes up fast and looks like rushing rapids. In the past it...

If I have to pull green ones I may try some of these. A friend gave me a jar of pickled green tomatoes a few years back. They were very good. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll bet the pie and relish are tasty as well.
