Hi.
I am not familiar with earbuds...
...but what I would recommend is :
• to not give your duckling anything solid to eat for the time being : you DON'T want to risk an obstruction,
• to give Olive Oil to her, AND watch that she drinks a lot of water - so it helps the earbud to move through...
* ...UPDATE : I have found pictures!
Here is what I call the "Blue Dark Dusky" colour : https://www.frieslandshow.nl/kleuren-watervogels/kleuren-bij-de-eenden/blauw-mees/
(Same, but ENLARGED picture of the Blue Dark Dusky female ...
Hi.
Yeah... I'm waiting, but it is hard.
• First duckling could be Blue Dark Dusky instead of Pastel Dusky...?
I don't know - I have some doubts -, but it was one of my objectives for this season...!
• Second duckling is probably Pastel coloured.
(Possibly Yellowbelly too, but I can't...
Hi.
Apple Cider Vinegar would be a good idea...
...but do think to NOT use metal waterer, or you could kill your ducks...!
(For the record : I would NOT use Apple Cider Vinegar for more than 24-36 hours.)
You could also mix some Thyme with their food : it won't hurt them.
What do you use...
Hi.
Even though I have made a lot of research, I can't figure out what colour are my Indian Runner ducklings...
Thus, any help would be appreciated!
(Talk genetic to me!! Teach me what you know, please...!!)
• 2-months-old juvenile duck (♀) :
• She has a bit of Black on her wings... ...
Hi.
At least, your ducklings make a good alarm...!!
Could you post pictures of your ducklings and of their shelter...?
Just so you know : owning only two ducks is a bad idea...
But owning only two ducklings, and no other duck...? It is a worse idea...
Your ducklings DON'T feel safe.
If...
Hi!
When I say "Blue", I mean the lighter, greyish coloured feathers...
If my understanding is right, it is the Blue gene that causes these feathers to be so light (?); so, I just call them "Blue".
In any case, Buff is a prettier colour that I thought.
(I have seen pictures of Orpington...
Hi.
They do.
I have seen mines do it even though they have drakes to mate with them... (When you think your girls are overmated, but you then see them mount each others...)
But I didn't know duck hens would go at it at 4-months-old!!
They are cute. (Pictures are pretty too, of course!!!)
I...
Hi.
Looks like Mycoplasma to me...
Where are your new chickens from?
...Do you know if they were on antibiotics before bringing them in...?
I would put one tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar per liter of water in the chickens' waterer - for 24-36 hours.
(Being careful to NOT put Vinegar in...
Hi.
I have never heard about Mallard patterned Dutch Hookbill ducks... but solid coloured ones exist : I know of a person selling them in France - entirely Black, Blue, and Brown ducks... (and White, of course!)
Dark Dusky coloured ducks are born entirely black.
Here ...
Hi.
• Dad looks Snowy/Silver - don't know how you would call this colour...
...but here : https://shagbarkbantams.com/our-hatchery/call-ducks/call-duck-in-snowy/
• Mom is Emery Penciled.
Here are pictures of Penciled ducks ...
Hi.
A shame.
I would really have liked to see a picture of your duckling's dad...!
Your duckling is Mallard patterned.
...Colour looks to be Blue Fawn to me...
(Meaning : Blue phase Mallard.)
I have just searched pictures on the Internet to see if your duckling could be Pastel instead, but...
Hi!
Same.
I'm so grateful there are people who take the time to explain the different colours (names + genetic)...
I have learned a lot thanks to them, AND thanks to the Calculator : https://kippenjungle.nl/kruisingEend.html
But we still need more pictures to put images to colours.
I own a...
Hi.
Hmmmm... I have indeed read somewhere Lavender were TWO Blue alleles instead, and so, a lighter phase of Lilac...?
So, it is a bit confusing...
In case you would be interested to know... in France :
• what we usually call "Lavender" is, in fact, the Splash colour - so, NO Brown allele...
Hi.
Ah, ah! Never too late to learn!
I was so confused, when I found myself with this duckling... : I had never seen a Splash duckling, so I thought I had a (somewhat light) Snowy (Harlequin) coloured duckling...!!
From what I have learned : yes, they can.
In fact, your seller was...
Hi.
If you want to see Lilac coloured ducklings, go see this thread : Lilac Indian runner? Genetics.
And if you want to see what a Splash one look like...
...here is a Splash coloured Duclair duckling :
Duclair ducks are not Swedish ducks, but they are similar.
So, do compare your Swedish...
