Hello and Welcome to BYC, Katy!!!:welcome:woot I am so so sorry about your chicken. Sometimes they pass before we can figure out what's up. 😞 Yes, Corid on hand for coccidiosis. ACV doesn't really do anything. Nutridrench, and Poultry Cell. And, any first aid items. Oh! Vetricyn is a must! I am...
Broody Boss.
My little Phyllis has been broody for like 2 months now and won't stop- even if she isn't laying on any eggs. She thinks that I'll let her this time because she has hatched chicks for 2 years in a row now. Last year, along with Rose and Dottie, and the year before, she co-parented...
Wow! That's amazing!!! My friend (poultry leader of my 4-H club), has a badddd fox problem. It has taken so many of her chickens, and she thought she got rid of it but the problem has pursued and she keeps losing more and more😣
Currently, I have 10 chrysalides (one of which I believe is infected with a parasitoid wasp), 3 monarch caterpillars, 13 black swallowtail caterpillars, and God only knows how many milkweed tussock caterpillars! They feed in groups so I probably have like 40+.🫢😬

If you like butterflies or caterpillars, join in the chat! Or, if you are interest in raising them yourself!
I have around 2 years of experience with raising monarch...
Those are some beautiful yolks!
What feed are feeding them? Just curious, because one time I switched my flock of hens and roos to all-flock after reading the harm the extra calcium can do that's in the feed. I was providing crushed oyster shells on the side, but one of my girls was not eating...

She could definitely be a mix! Not part white leghorn though I don't believe. She looks a lot more like a white plymouth rock to me, or at least part white rock. Especially her build. Her face in the first pic looks like that of a cornish.
That first pic though could be entered in the calendar...
If anyone wants a rooster, the humane society of huron valley has plenty! Barred rocks, buff orps, and a mystery rooster.

Gotcha. My hen got a prolapse right after I switched the layer feed to all-flock because she was refusing to eat the supplemental crushed oyster shells on the side. I guess you have a few options here, separate the roosters and hens from each other and feed them their designated feeds, or keep...
