As far as I know standard. Her box was labeled dominque/austrolorp. But all the others have some light coloring and orange beaks and feet. She’s just different.🤷🏻♀️
I’m just curious about this little gal (I always speak pullets into existence lol) coz she just doesn’t look like thw others or any of the others in the box!!
Well I only considered it because our local farm supply is a small family onwed business which accepts local sellers and were in farm land where everyone has poultry to swap. Otherwise I’d completely vote it out. What other chicks are all black featured like that?
I bought 4 straight runs from a dominque/austrolop bin. One was yellow and marked like a deleware that I suspect is just a mystery chick. Two are black and gray like a Dominique or austrolop with orange feet. The fourth I’m starting to question she’s all black with black legs and feet and tinier...
Grabbed a few dominque/Austrolops and saw this little yellow sweetheart so I took her too (always refer to them as pullets yo speak hens into existence!!) I’m guessing deleware but have only ever had reds so I’m clueless. What y’all think?
No problem, like I said most people won’t candle and I can’t say the science behind it but mine had out pips and everything while I candles, I was just very careful not to take them out too long.
And if I remember correctly I started with 17. I marked each egg on a notebook and everyday wrote...
A lot of people are against lockdown candling but I personally candled till nearly the end. I wanted to know what was happening in there and I still hatched 7 successful healthy ducklings. However I did number them all and track candling process every single day. It was kind of my learning...
So my original three ducks (the quack pack) are my Pekin hen, blue Swedish hen, and Muscovy drake.
I hatched 7 ducklings between them last season. I have since moved and rehomed 6 of those now grown ducks. I got left with a drake because I he flew away while I was duck catching for the move...
Okay forgive me in advance this is a long one.
First I recently bought and Indian runner who’s was about 3 weeks old, 2 created pekins roughly made it to 2 weeks old and four chickens (not sure they’re reddish in color and I asked for meat producers) from TSC. I have a flock of ten already who...
I think you’re definitely right! This has been quite a nerve wrecking learning process for me but I feel like I learned a lot. And after getting home to see the struggling ducks egg I realized he was breech (if you call it that with ducks lol) so I feel confident I made the right choice by...
Okay y’all, I decided to go to my bfs and leave the nanny cam on (my step mom agreed if we saw anything weird she’d go over as a 911 duck assist lol) so the duckling in question was peeping and shaking and the guy next to him literally popped externally yesterday. Tiniest little pup and this...
Lol I’m originally from Chicago! Very yankee haha. I’m getting a little worried the duckling had made no progress so I took it out to look and is peeping and moving his beak but can’t seem to make any progress- so I peeled off some hard shell carefully to give him more room to work but is it...
Okay cool! I just didn’t know if I was being negligent. I’ve been learning to let nature do its thing- even in the incubator it just feels like he’s been zipping for a while. I’m turning on the nanny cam and going to the store! Lol thank you all so much I’ll keep updating!
