    Assisted Hatching Gone Wrong

It's hard but try not to intervene unless you just have to. Wait until you think it's been long enough and then wait a little longer. I dont usually consider it before 24 hours. Anytime I open the incubator, even just a crack when I already have a pip I lose a lot of them, they get sticky and...

Any hope for this chick? Video.

Thank you. I did start giving the chick nutridrench and have been giving it water. It will sit with its head back but not flipping over, as long as I am not touching it. I will try adding the honey to the water and electrolytes. I appreciate the information.

    4 sick hens...Help!

I've got 4 hens, all about a year old. They've been acting lethargic the last 2 days, keeping their eyes closed and not leaving the roost. Tonight one sounds like a cat purring and one seems kind of out of sorts, she tried to jump up one level of the roost and hit the back wall and stumbled...

    Cornish X NOT for processing......?

I was given some chicks from our local church since I have been donating eggs to their food pantry....as they are now growing, I have realized that 3 of them are meat birds...They are just about the size of my full grown layer hens at 6-7 weeks. I have no intentions of using them for meat, of...

Thank you for the information, I will read into it farther. Where do you go about finding a vet that will do surgery on a chick if that is what is needed?

Nope no extra toe and pink skin. So, must be bantam size but from my LF rooster. I didn't realize they could be bantam size without tie bantam parents

Bantam chick from LF roo and bantam hen? Possible?

We just hatched out a few chicks from our mixed flock. We had a silkie roo who was killed about a week and a half before these eggs were set. Two bantam hens, frizzle Cochin. One of the chicks is bantam. Could this be a result of our Amerucana rooster and Cochin hen? Or would it have to have...
