Anyone looking for an experienced roo?
Lost my entire flock of girls to dogs/fox/coyote(?) in two days. Getting out of the chicken business.
"Ghirardelli" is a very handsome, four year old BCM roo and needs a new home where he can roam and tend to a flock of his own. He was very sweet and...
...himself with the ladies when they were all disappeared. Runs from his humans, never shown any aggression. Willing to transport within reasonable distance. We are in Brooks GA, just south of ATL.
PM for more info.
***OOPS! Meant to post in GA thread. Anyone know how to move it there??***
Lost my entire flock of girls to dogs/fox/coyote(?) in two days. Getting out of the chicken business.
"Summer" is a 1.5 y.o. Golden Duckwing w/ rose comb. Father was a SLW, mother RIR/BCM - came out handsome as can be. He was just starting to establish himself with the ladies when they were...

I have the same thing with my black marans. Is it a marans thing? She is about 3-4 years old. Anyone know what this is? Calcium deposits are usually adhered & a part of the egg. These things will pop right off with a scrape. Eggs seem fine otherwise.
Could this be it? She seems completely fine...
To Griffinsong & Roosters Crow - Thank you both very much! Very helpful!
Top pic is my mixed breed cockerel w/ SLW pullet.
Below is the another two updated pics of the mixed breed chick in question. I'm more & more thinking a pullet.
Ah-that explains it. Thank you! It seems I may have lucked out w/ only one roo in the bunch. Still not entirely sure about this one. The black roo chick with the rose comb has significantly more developed comb and wattles & thicker legs. The other three chicks are not showing combs/wattles at...
Ha! So far 50/50! This is one of five chicks hatched out. It would be great if only ONE was a baby Roo! But I'm just not sure! The other three chicks are showing almost no comb yet at all.
I'm wondering if the sex-link works backwards?? Usually it is Red/Black Roo + Barred/Laced Hen = Blond...
Daddy roo is SLW, Mama is BCM/RIR
Does the sex link work this way too?
There is another black chick w/ rose comb that is almost certainly a roo.
Yellow/Brown above is feathering out beautifully, w/ thin bars - but thinking a pullet.
GA - ATL Metro - OTP South
Four five week old chicks for sale
2 - Silver Laced Wyandotte - pullets, both have pretty eye liner
2 - SLW x BCM/RIR - Black: One Single comb. Single comb pictured; One Rose comb - cockerel.
I had a SLW Roo on a BCM/RIR mix.
This is one of five chicks hatched out on 4/13.
Another that looks just like it, but w/ Wyandotte rose comb, is (I'm nearly certain) a Roo.
Not sure about this one though...What do y'all think?
I'll post pics of the other when I can get a good shot.
THX!
