    Have you checked mother Hen's hatchery in greeneville? I'm getting some lavender orps in march from them. As well as some other breeds. Rob,Denise, and Ricky are great, if they don't have what you're looking for they can probably find it.

    Tobacco leaves

    I'm new to chickens, I've been reading these forums and others etc. but someone just told me they put tobacco leaves in their nests to kill lice and mites. Sounds crazy! Anyone else ever hear of this? I live in east tn so there's a lot of tobacco leaves around here.

    Mother hen hatchery-Absolutely!! I got 5 RIR's from them. Rob is awesome very knowledgeable. I got to see my girls parents. I'll be getting some more next spring from them.

    It's a still shot from my video. It wouldn't let me upload a video. I didn't see her this morning I leave my house at 5am. It looked too forced to be a yawn. When I get home I'll check on her. Thanks for the concern.

    Thanx y'all she seems to be okay. Went back to see her and she's being her ornery self. First time raising chickens. She gave me a scare.

    She is opening and closing her mouth like she throwing up. Nothing coming out Not making any noise Now she is in her dust bath just laying there eyes closing. My 2 buffs are near her like they know something is wrong.

    Chicken newbie, but wanted chickens for a long time. Started with 2 RIR's, and 2 Buffs(3 months old) a week ago. And yesterday got 5 more RIR's(5 weeks old). Am I crazy?? Glad this forum is here. Glad BYC is here!
