Mini Update: No longer going to be allowing the girls free range of the backyard. Will be buying supplies to confine them tomorrow and I will be posting the results here! I'm also possibly adding a new member to the family and it's not a chicken
Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long! Life got chaotic and busy busy BUSY! However, I have been doing a lot of renovations to the coop and that has been exhausting. In the home stretch with that though! The chicks are close to 16 weeks! They are free ranged 24/7 (I lock them up at night of...
Update: Coop will be delivered Monday! Would've been delivered today if it wasn't for the rain we got last night/early this morning. I am so ready for them to be outside and in the coop. Of course I'll be waiting until they hit 6 weeks and the weather straightens up. It's supposed to rain all...
Love to see other people feel the same I way I do about my flock. I do understand that for some people it's their livelihood and they can't afford to keep a hen that isn't laying.
Thank you! I have a lot of plans and can't wait to share them once HOA is done taking their sweet sweet time haha!
Pictures will be coming in the next few weeks! Once I have my coop and the girls can be outside in the coop! As where I currently have them is horrific lighting to really get any good photos of them haha!
That's very impressive that they're good with the chickens. My neighbor a few houses down...

I'm planning on semi-free ranging? Is the best way I can put it haha. Basically when I'm outside and watching them they'll be out of the coop and enjoying a lot of grass, bugs and weeds!
Love you're story! Can't wait to see what else you share about your beautiful homestead! I've also been bitten by the chicken bug, I currently am raising my first ones and already planning on maybe adding just two more once the ones I have start laying! Lol!
Went and checked out the chicken coop and I love it! It's perfect for my small flock of four! It's a 6 x 10 and you can enter the run and the coop. Which will hopefully make cleaning, feeding, and changing the water so much easier than the previous one we looked at. It's made with a nice thick...
