    What WON'T your chickens eat?

    Mine love So many things everyone else’s don’t seem to like. They eat strawberries, blueberries, all parts of squash, oatmeal, grapes, and carrots. I’ve only found 3 things they just won’t eat: Celery, green peppers, and stink bugs. I really wish they liked stink bugs :-/

    Deep bedding

    I have deep litter and as long as I throw a handful of scratch in there every day the ladies mix it up for me. I’ve never noticed any ammonia smell since I started using the scratch.

    Ok but HOW do you do it? My gals are 4 months old, they have a coop they get locked into at night and a covered, fenced, as secure as I could make it, run. I have about 2 acres but I’m on a very busy 55 mph road and I fear them wandering up there. I can not afford to fence anything else right...

    Struggling with identifying this hen. I ordered a rare breed variety pack and I have strong suspicions on the other gals, but this one has stumped me. She seems to dark to be a lavender Orpington but that’s the only one I know of that’s grey like that. Please and thank you!
