Mandarin duck chick with birth defect?

Update, the vitamin B helped a lot! And since being in the pond with the adults we can barely notice his issue anymore so it looks like he grew out of it. Thank you so much for your help!

Hi guys, We had one of the mandarin chicks that hatched turn out all yellow with red and blue eyes. Has anyone had this before? We had to bathe her a few times as she wasn’t taking care of his plumage like the others but she’s eating and growing well. Since being so light will it be a problem...

No worries, we are putting our 13 ducklings from the incubator in the outside pen today. They are doing great, even the one with the birth defect seems a lot better since we added vitamin b in their water. We will keep them seperated from the adults for now then will slowly introduce them. Our...

Thank you so much we will try that. We lost the runt of the hatch 2 days ago as the others were trampling on her and she had problems eating and swallowing. Even with hand feeding her and separating her she didn’t make it unfortunately. I will try the vitamin b for him. We seperated him...

HELP Our mandarin ducklings keep dying

Omg so cute! Thanks for all the detailed info, ours are in my office so I’ll definitely make sure to engage them to eat the next few days and make sure they imprint and get used to me. We use a clear box but I’ll get some puppy pads tomorrow, that’s a great tip! Thanks so much!

HELP Our mandarin ducklings keep dying

Thank you, we did that as you recommended in a previous thread. After they jumped we put them in the brooder with heat lamp and the shallow water bowl with starter feed but 5 of them just sat in it 🙂 Not sure if I need to teach them how to drink and eat? How do you imprint that? Oh and our other...

HELP Our mandarin ducklings keep dying

Hi guys, We got 6 3 month old mandarin ducks last June. They started laying eggs early in March as we had a 70 degree day and then back to frost and snow. We incubated the eggs that were laid early to see if they could be saved as none of the mums sat on the nests. We had a lot of bad eggs...
