Did you find an answer to this question? I have a hen with similar symptoms and her comb is flopped over. She had mites when we got her, but is now mite free (I think). She has been slow to get new feathers. I do feed yogurt irregularly.
Thanks for any help,
Carol
I'm interested in Verm-X, but my birds drink from community waterers rather than individually in cages. How do I translate 1.5 ml per bird to 14 hens and a rooster?
Thanks, Carol
Anyone here use Fetrell's nutri-balancer in their chicken feed? I am considering adding this to my Dumor pellets. Hubby bought some less than fabulous birds to start and I'm trying to improve their health. It is a slow go. Mites are the dickens to control and they were infested when they got...
My rooster, an unknown breed who is a great guardian, has some sort of problem with his neck. He wiggles it down then stretched it out and then appears to "burp" for lack of better description. Wobbles his neck and then opens his beak as wide as he can is another description. Anyone with...
Please describe "wobbles" on the eggs. How does one figure out who is laying without staying in the hen house all the time. I got all my birds as adults and can hardly distinguish between them. Having someone to discuss my birds with is absolutely wonderful. Carol
The hen with the dirty butt is a young (?) RIR and I surely haven't weighted her, but she is small. She is eating as far as I can tell. All the birds have access to laying pellets at all times, but I don't know who does and doesn't eat the pellets. I feed yogurt about twice a week, but old...
I am not sure if I am even talking about the same bird, but tonight when I went to close the hen house I could see where a bird had dropped almost clear water. I do have a bird with a white backend most of the time.
A little history on my flock will help. About a month ago my husband, without...
I recently visited a friend farm (he had moved 3 hours away) and he had premier fencing. He strongly encouraged anyone with premier fencing to use their charger for compatibility.
Hope this helps,
Carol
I visited a farm yesterday that had a movable hoop/coop. He had a v-shaped nesting "trough" divided into individual boxes. There was chicken wire in each end for keeping out predators and he had Premier #1 fencing with elec tricity for night time. Fabulous set up. He was gaining nitrogen and...
