anybody else in lockdown? Its my first time hatching and growing overly nervous.
No luck here :( I have done 2 batches now and 0 hatches - But I'm trying again :) Set 12 duck eggs in another incubator 5/8 at about 10:45pm and set 24 eggs 5/10 about 10:30pm - Hope I get some out of these ones! Hope everybody else had some hatch!!:jumpy- Morgan87

Still a little confused on temps
I was kind of thinking the same earlier. I only have 1 thermometer right now, and I have it on the side of the incubator about 1/2 inch above the wire grate. My first batch got up to 105 :ep (The day before that happened our power went out and they went down to 75..If it was 105 at the bottom...- Morgan87

How big/small is your town?
Our town was 2,104 in 2010.. the city has a total area of 1.4 square miles of which is land and 0.04 square miles of it is water.. I went into lockdown at about 11pm Saturday.. I am hopeful that I will get some chicks but I really don't think I will have any hatch.. They all look like quitters to me except for 1 :(- Morgan87

Humidity
Humidity matters because the eggs have to lose a certain amount of water before they hatch, if they don't lose enough and they start to hatch they could drown, if they lose too much the membrane becomes too dried out and can suffocate the chick before it gets out of the egg. Humidity
My eggs are on day 15, I was wondering if 50-55% humidity is bad? They have been between 35-45% but we have been having storms the past 2 days and the humidity has gone up. they were at 50% yesterday and today they went to 55%.
