    As I have said in my introduction, I Have 4 different breeds of chickens but only one one rooster. My question is, is it bad to let the rooster I have mate with the other breeds? Please bare in mind that I am very new to this. And if so what the heck would the new chicks be considered?

    LOL, I have had the easter egg hunt thing go through my mind a thousand times! We have them in a 20' by 20' by 6' high dog pen that I built a coop in. I have to check on the rooster thing, I didn't know that they were not allowed, A few of my neighbors have small flocks but I thought they didn't...

    Hello all, My 8 year old son and I decided to start raising chickens as a Father & son project. We have 6 RIR chics, 2 Brahma chics, 1 Black Giant chic (unsure of sex), 4 Barred Rock chics, & 1 Barred Rock Male (6wks old). All of females are 4 wks old. Not really sure what we are doing lol...
