Have a sweet 1 yr old Cinnamon Queen that has started isolating herself from the others and her comb is a bit floppy. Can see no signs of coughing or other issues. We are in the middle of a serious heat wave so keeping water fresh
and the they have plenty of shade. Giving them frozen watermelon...
The pictures are pretty good. However, they are not showing the areas of gray. She’s beautiful, but I’m just not sure if she’s the same as the other Orpington‘s I have.
Either way, she’s part of my flock, and we’re all happy campers .
I have five week old chicks, and one of them is a very very pale yellow and gray with gray legs. I thought she was a Orpington but now I’m not sure because she doesn’t look like any of the others. Any ideas?

My current layers are about 8 months old. New babies arrive end of March. So I guess there will be a sad day in the fall …

At what age should chickens have their “sad day” , allowing new chickens to come in to the flock and managing the size of my flock? I am limited to about 8 chickens. I want to keep a schedule rotating so as to always have eggs, but hate the thought of taking out one out is just sad!
