    Pheasant aggression

Hi I just had a question on pheasants. I have around 50 ringneck hens and 5 roosters. It seems that one or more of my hens is very fond of picking the saddle feathers of my other pheasants. She has even killed a rooster and a couple of hens. Is there any way to stop this before it progresses...

    Pheasant breeding

Ok awesome! Thanks! Also is there anyway I could boost the other pheasants size? I am feeding them game bird matinance feed. Would game bird grower with the higher protein boost up their size or tail length?

    Pheasant breeding

Hi I just had a question. In one of my ring necked pheasant flight pens one of the roosters is showing spring breeding signs. I have 18 or so hens with 3 roosters. I was planning on taking one out to a different pen during spring breeding time so there wouldn’t be too much aggression. Anyway we...

    Hardy Pheasants

Also another question. Out of MacFarlane birds would Manchurian/Ringneck Cross, melanistic mutant, or regular ringneck do the best at reproducing in the wild?

    Hardy Pheasants

Thank you so much for the info! I live in Utah and they have a permit which allows the release of pheasants on a set plot of land. We do have some wild pheasants but I would love to see more! I live in a farming community which many small farms. Lots of the farms practice irrigation so that...

    Hardy Pheasants

Hey! I just have one question which type of pheasant is the best for release? I have been looking at stocking a property for the birds to naturally reproduce. There wouldn’t be any hunting allowed on the property. I have been looking at McFarlane and have been trying to figure out what breeds...

    Incubator setting trays

Hi I am trying to build an incubator that closely resembles the Brinsea ova-easy 380. The only problem I am having is trying to build the setting trays. I could make them out of wood but I would prefer them to be made out of metal. Is there anywhere I could buy them pre-made? Thanks!

    Pheasant wattle

I am feeding them game bird matenance feed. The hens are doing great. I get one egg a day from both of them. Yes when I checked their water had a little algae in the bottom pan. Could this be the cause?

    Pheasant wattle

Hi I just had a question. My ringneck rooster's wattle is looking kind of pale and dried up. Is this normal? He has been breeding the hens for about a week and it looked nice and red when he began breeding. Is he lacking some sort of nutrition or maybe a desiese? It's been looking pale for about...

Can Valley quail and gambel crossbreed?

I believe that they would. They are very similar and both are quail. I think it would be just the same as breeding different strains and breeds of chickens. I know for a fact that different types of pheasants do this, a Reeve and a ringneck will cross to make a ringneck-Reeve. Ringneck...

    Pheasant tail

Hi I was just wondering how long it would take a pheasant tail to grow back? I saw a couple of days that one of my roosters broke his tail about halfway down. Will it grow back at all because it's cut only halfway and not all the way? Thanks
