    Automatic Chicken Doors

I am completely new to chickens. I cannot help here. I will say it feels narrow but all my ladies are smaller still so currently they fit through with ease.

    Automatic Chicken Doors

We have the omlet and so far no complaints. Simple to install and easy to use. Cannot speak to the longevity but it seems solid.

Almost done. Fence up, time out/ recovery room built. Minus corrugated roof panels. Cameras installed!! Landscaping almost complete. Edging and planting tomorrow. This is getting out of hand! They are just chickens right?

New coop- he s won’t use roost at night but will during day.

So my new 10 week old hens won’t use the roost at night. They are happy to line up during the day but at night they all cram in by the door. It is in the 60’s at night currently so they shouldn’t be too cold. Should I be worried or do they just need to grow up?

Absolutely agree. Can’t take credit for it. My wife over ruled me and she was (again) right

Done for the week. Birds are exploring! Currently locked out from the underside of the run. Let them stay where we can catch them easily.

Question for the experts, Do I need to go ahead and install the nest box even though we are still a ways from laying age?

Why wasn't I warned.. not to build a coop, or heck get chickens... Oh well too late now. New build started this weekend.

Coop is fully enclosed, first night outside for the ladies. Roost boards may get moved. Not sure I like this configuration may be too far to lean in to clean poop boards. May also be too low for proper poop board. Tomorrow bedding in the run and landscaping (maybe landscaping) inside chores are...

Why wasn't I warned.. not to build a coop, or heck get chickens... Oh well too late now. New build started this weekend.

It is just shy of 3' currently. Enough room for the apron and fence maintenance needs, didn't want to pull it out further, trying to preserve line of sight from pool deck to swing set/tree house. Also I made the swing out door 2/3 the total length of the coop to allow easier cleaning. (so more...

Why wasn't I warned.. not to build a coop, or heck get chickens... Oh well too late now. New build started this weekend.

I built the whole thing with screws, the roof sheathing was glued for strength but alas I was too lazy to disassemble. I do have to reverse the walls though since the side with cleanout access is now against the fence. But the walls were built flat then attached so it should not be too...

Well that was a pain in the booty. Coop is relocated and being re-leveled. Now located in the rear of the yard under the trees. I’ll keep the run facing wall mostly open with hardware cloth so the birds can be closed up when need. Building resumes Thursday, rain tomorrow for us . Then New...
