    My daughter pet sat for a flock that was on this diet. Multiple deformities, early death, breathing issues - just buy high quality commercial feed with 20% protein. Your hens will pick out what they want with a grain/seed mix, so you will need a pelleted feed. My daughter and I felt terrible...

    We had a Sebright hen that backed up periodically for 8 years. It was worse during a molt. She was totally fine otherwise. Also, a chick's position in the egg can cause some neurological issues that will often resolve over time.

    How is your hen? I had one that had a concussion with no signs of trauma. Took a bit to figure out what was going on....head tilting, constant yawning, lots of sleeping and tucking head behind wing.

    Deworming 40 Chickens?

    Interesting. For our horses, the vet has us alternate Quest Plus and Equimax every 6 months for tapeworms. Not sure if Quest Plus is also an option for poultry, but just mentioning it. Has moxidectin/praziquantel.

    I had a hen who would eat her feather casings during the molt, so her crop was always full and would not empty until the new feathers had fully come in. Give her time.
