Hey yall! Just thought I’d share the tiny egg I got the other day. I have a Khaki Campbell and a Pekin duck and their eggs usually are about the size of the one on the left. Thought this was interesting but I also want to know if I should be concerned!
Also Happy Easter everybody!
Thank you to everyone for your advice. :)
I am going to try to give them the gluconate for a week and see if that helps.
I’ll update and keep y’all posted!
Thank you both!
They already have a dish of oyster shell and they were hardly eating any of it which is why I added the gluconate to the water.
Also how would I force a molt?
Hey yall I’m concerned about my two ducks. I have a pekin (Dolly) and a khaki Campbell (Loretta). Loretta typically lays one egg a day and Dolly will sometimes skip a day or two. For a while they were laying soft shelled eggs so I put a dish of oyster shell by their food and mixed some into...
Thank you for the advice. Both ducks are female. In the future, I may raise a couple of chickens and wait until they’re full grown to introduce them to the ducks.
Thanks again :)
Hey yall!
I’ve got two duckies and have been wanting to add a chicken into the mix but I’m not sure how that would go.
I would plan on keeping them in the same pen but how old should the chicken be before it is with the ducks?
I’ve also got a silly but curious question…
Has anyone tried to...
I decided to use some left over wire from building their pen and put it overtop of the wood pallet. It works great! Not as much water hits the ground and they can’t dig holes!
:bow
I’ve got a pekin duck (Wally) and a khaki Campbell duck (Loretta) and I’m not sure what sex they are!
I’ve been getting eggs and I think they might be Wally’s but not sure.
Loretta is a lot quieter than Wally so I suspect she might actually be a male and Wally is female.
I’ve attached a...
Hey yall!!:wee
I’ve got two duckies that love the water and I have a little pool for them but they make such a mud mess (with the water splashing and digging holes) and it kills the grass. This wouldn’t be a problem except their pen isn’t very big. I move it every once in a while so they get...
Thank you so so much!!! :wee
Tractor supply must have mixed up! All this time thought I had a Rouen! That explains the feather!
Thanks for the help I’ll be sure to cut back on the bugs!
Wally + Loretta says thanks as well!
:love
I mix brewers yeast, dried mealworms, beetles, and flies with their regular food (Purina Pelleted Duck Feed for All Life Stages) for a treat I give them once a day.
The bugs have 45% protein and the brewers yeast has 13 grams of protein. But the feed bag doesn’t say.
They have regular food...
