    Um,yah good concept..bad approach....CHEAP,yes..SAFE dont think so... This needs some safety steps added and a few things changed...He didn't us a out door extension cord and the wood could catch on fire not to mention they could knock over the water container...SCARY!!!!

    You can always cut off some of the pvc on the elbow to make it shorter/closer to the bottom of the bucket..Then they don't have to reach so far..Make sure to sand and edges that may catch on there combs...You could always use a 2 gallon bucket and a smaller elbow fitting..

    They did start laying again when it cooled off ...Got hot again a week later it was100 to 105 with the heat index for 3 days straight ..she layed a soft shell egg.I'm guessing she will have a hard shell egg tomorrow... I wish they played in water to cool off like ducks...

    I have been looking/checking around but I haven't found any stray eggs...There are no bushes or real hiding places...The Yards pretty clean and mowed...I have a play house that I leave open because they like to dig in the dirt in it....No eggs there either... I hand feed them fruits and veggies...

    I have 3 RIR...I know 2 are laying because I found 2 eggs at once..I believe the third bird started laying because I found a soft shelled egg the other day.I have now only been finding one egg..It has been 90's and even 107 with heat index the last week.Would the heat slow down the production ?

    My vet said before it would be in the eggs.. I just didn't know how long it would take before it would be out of there system... Just like a mom breast feeding a infant .If she drinks alcohol it would be in the breast milk.
