    Ours did that too. Then for weeks, he made all sorts of funny moaning sounds before he actually crowed at about 9 or 10 weeks, i think it was. It's like they are winding themselves up before they can let out a proper crow.

    i would recommend bird vitamins for this little guy in addition to any splinting. you can get them at the pet store. use them for a few weeks. it was bird vitamins that helped our chicken with rubber legs, ribavarin deficiency, is what we think it was... good luck!
