Thank you @newmarch2014 I will try these things. and thank you @Cynthia12 those emo's correctly express how I felt this afternoon. LOL Funny, Sneaky chickens.
that little one is my first chicken egg. The big one is a duck egg. My chickens are out all day, locked up at night. Is there any way I can avoid an Easter egg hunt every day besides keeping them locked up? Their yard is not very "search friendly"
Nice fish! My son just left for Alaska yesterday. He says it's beautiful. Stay safe, eat well, come home happy.
So....
My "eating" chickens have started laying eggs. I found one in the yard by the food garden. This makes it much harder to eat them.
I have no idea how to get...
I had a very good friend that lived in Pahrump. I hear its a nice place. We lost him in April in a sand machine accident. it was a surprise to see the name of the town here, no one knows where that is ;-) I hope you like your new place ;-) Im in SL and am new to chickens I have had ducks...
We tried out the chicken plucker for the first time today. The two roosters had to go. It worked. It has some kinks that need to be worked out. I need a motor with a bit more torque. I scalded one of the birds at much too high of a heat (all my thermometers have died in one way or another in...
Welcome back @MoriahQuilts the pucker is coming along. It's a surprisingly challenging project. Sweetie got the base plate done without too much cussing. We are working on acquiring the correct size pully system. we were going to use a washing machine but opted for a different plan. Plans have...
I got the chicken pluckin' fingers for the whizbang chicken plucker in the mail today. Im so excited. I never thought I would want an automatic chicken plucker for my birthday, but there ya go ;-)
Now to get sweetie to get it put together.....
@sundancenbare where is she a vet...
So scary! I'm glad you lived to tell the tale. Water is such an unforgiving force. I hope the people that ripped you off got it back 10 fold in Karma. At least you had a trolling motor back-up instead of just Oars.
We hunt deer with 270's DH had a Classic old Winchester 270 and we did...
I just grabbed some 2x4's screwed them to a flatter piece of wood to stabilize then screwed some plastic containers like you get at the dollar store or in my case came filled with deli roast beef ;-) that hold about 3 or 4 cups each to it, side by side. I made two of them and that was plenty...
...buy/ build new guns & master how to use them proficiently. Our biggest new project was a fishing boat. We bought a fiberglass boat for fishing ***a really good deal*** got it home and found it was rotted out right down to the runners. Not to be out-done, we stripped that 17-foot boat down...
I HOPE YOU BOTH GET DEER TOO!!! It is so nice to have the freezer full ;-) I do love the time in the mountains too. We save up two weeks vacation for this. This year some of our (more experienced) friends drew out as well so I'm hoping to enjoy their company and learn from their experience...
It will be exciting to see how they do. I would love some. I thought I was ready for another bunch, I want another bunch, but now DH and I are in discussions regarding space and time.
We just found out we drew out for the deer hunt. This changes the amount of time I can give them to...
THANKS! I was so pleased. I do the same thing, pick them up every day to feel their weight. Last week I was making my friends hold them and feel how fat and how big their breasts were. That's what you get when you visit my flock ;-)
has anyone on here built their own chicken plucker? Looking for helpful hints before I jump into this project. Also someone on here said they would have meatie chicks.....I don't remember who. Im ready for my next batch ;-)
Sure, bring them over. ;-) I'm in Kearns.
*****not a professional, just a willing friend.

It went well.
I want to build a chicken...
They look happy ;-) That is a pretty nice shelter. May your turf live long and prosper ;-)
My cousin has ducks and just lets them run the yard. She never locks them up. They just bed down under the shrubbery. They really don't need much if there are no predators to worry about.
I...
