    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Haven't posted in awhile, but I have caught up and have a question. Does anyone have any frostbite remedies? Both my boys had to spend the night amd today inside because of it. I have home made neosporin rubbed on them, but didn't know if anyone else had any ideas. Their crowing is about to...

Got some good ones of the boys today. This is the same roo as the gawky boy I posted awhile back!! His uneven wattles always make me laugh. This is our surprise roo that we had hoped was just a more developed hen. Then he got a nice set of tail feathers, lol. I wish I could get a good picture...

I got all 19 from Mt Healthy in March. They were supposed to be all girls, but we ended up with these two roos. Not going to complain though since they'll watch over the girls when out and maybe next year we can hath our own babies.

So here are my two 12 week old roos. The one in the back still has uneven wattles but he attempted his first crow this morning. Sounded pretty funny but not bad for a first try, lol.

So while I was outside watching the flock, I heard our first attempt at a crow!!! It sounded more like a bugle but still!!! I laughed pretty hard ad then he did it again. I think from watching them they all seem fine so maybe it was just a fluke. I'll keep watching though just on case.

This is our first time even really being around chickens so I wasn't sure if this was a problem. I did notice one of the roos was walking slower, more tenderly if that makes sense. That's what made me think it might be a problem. I'll have to go out later during nap time and really look him over...

Ok so this is one of the worse ones and everything looks good other than some dirt/poo. She wasn't tender or anything either when I flexed her foot and pushed on it.

Thank you! I googled picture of scaly leg mites and that's not it. Hubby and I went out late last night and checked under wings and around vents and didn't see anything. The skin was nice and pink, and feathers were clean. I'm going to post a picture on the fb page if anyone can hop over and...

So I took a picture of their feet this morning but byc isn't letting me upload it... I can post it on the fb page though if that will help. Most aren't red but the roo seems like his feet hurt, so I think they may be sore at least.

Ok so hubby and I went out and checked over a few of the chickens for mites or lice and found nothing... Could they just have dry skin? I'll try and get a picture of it tomorrow to post for a better idea.

Ok so I'm not sure what kind of mites they are now... I didn't see one on them but saw their poor feet are missing scales. How will I know which kind they are? Will I also have to completely remove our DL?

    INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Ok so while I was outside earlier, I noticed some of my chickens had picked the scales off the webbing from between their toes!! After a Google search I found out that it's mites.... So how do I get rid of them and then also prevent them from coming back??? We're very new to this but I would...
