Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE
Here is a little nugget that hatched from my incubator full of a staggered hatch of chicks and Muscovy eggs. Not all hens are smart l have learned. How many Ducks does everyone have.
I feel like a beginner. I have 11 Muscovy. 1 drake and 10 hens. -
Freezing right away?
I just processed my first roosters Saturday. We will be having one for dinner tomorrow night. There was no rigor when we put it in the freezer bag. It has been in the fridge since Saturday morning. Hope it tastes great.- Aquachick

You're right they are easy to tell pretty early. It of my 8 straight run l had six hens and two roosters. I got lucky. They are just beginning to lay now. Love the darker egg color. Much different than my Welsummer and marans.- Aquachick

Will ducks destroy the grass?
My 16 ducks share a pasture with my 4 goats and the grass is fine. They have numerous water tubs and l move them often. They do get very excited when l dump their tubs and will do their little dabbing move. I do have Muscovy though so maybe that is why l don't have an issue with my grass. -
best feeders/waterers for adult ducks
Many people use the electric dog bowls that keep the water from freezing. I have also heard of people using aquarium heaters but l don't know how safe that is. They also make heated buckets. Hope these ideas help. -

Sricher91, Sorry you are going through this. At one time or another we all have to face the reality of rehoming or dispatching our poultry. It is part of being a responsible pet owner. I used to name all of my poultry but it was harder to let them go when they were past laying age. I still... -
