Welcome:
I was given three goslings. I am trying to identify as I believe they are West of England. Two larger with grey areas and one totally white. Hope you find another.
I have three adopted goslings, one white, two white with grey patches. Not sure what to feed them except flock feed and free ranging. I have no idea what type they are but I had to adopt them they are soooo cute!
I didn't have any luck incubating eggs, but I had a hen that would sit on them faithfully...she hatched three nest fulls. My hen was stolen in the middle of the night, but I have a duck that is feeling lucky (:
I am wanting to add more turkeys to the farm. Looking for heritage breeds, bourbon red or royal palm. Somewhere near the Oregon Coast, willing to travel 2 hours if I have to for a pick up. Wanting around 6-10.
I have so many, different colors, temperaments. One thing I know, when mine go broody, they are the best mothers. I have one that basically taught me a lesson! My ears were ringing after the wing beating I got trying to untangle one of her babies.
Are they assertive? First to feed, cuz looks like roos to me. My roos always stood up taller, stood at the front of the flock, came to the food bowl first.
I do the same as Denn. I have also let a broody watch over them as she protects them from too much pecking. I recently added six chicks to my broody and she won't let the other hens near 'her' babes. Sometimes I even get too close. OUCH!
How did she fare? I lost a hen recently to this as I was unaware.....new to peafowl last year. I noticed the wings hanging down and next day was just too late ):
Can anybody explain to me why my guineas like to play suicide on the gravel/paved road. I have over 20 acres for them to wander...and they do, but they love to play chicken on the road with cars.
