So happy to hear she's doing better. Her eye maybe ok, it may be just swelling near the eye due to the puncture wound. I had a goose who was attacked by a cat and the cat bit her on both cheeks. The goose had swelling on both of her cheeks and gasped for air for 2 days before we finally...
So sorry you went through this and so happy there has been improvement. My duck was attacked by a stray dog a couple of months ago with wounds on his back. After receiving so much information from this site, Harmony healed really well after spending a week or so in a quiet warm room with some...
I know this is an old thread but I'm so happy she survived that ugly attack. She is really a trooper and it feels good to know she is doing fine now, loved her video! :) I have truly turned into a duck and goose lover!!! :love
Well I guess I'll be building them a house big enough for all 5 plus their pool. I'd better get started, hoping to find a partial structure that I can add on to. Will keep you posted.:)
Well my little flock runs straight to the river once I let them out of the garage. :weeAnd now that Miss Lydia has shown them who's boss, they tear out of there like there's a ravenous dog running after them!!! I think I will try putting the pool back outside so maybe they won't feel the...
Yes, that's what I'm thinking too. I've let the other 3 spend time overnight in the garage together with Lucy & Lydia and they did quite well....after Lydia showed them who was in charge. :D But when I release everyone except them, they look soooooo sad. :hit:hit:hit They do have plenty of...
Yes, I'm trying! :D A long way to go though, they're still mostly feather weight. :( I think they'll eventually eat more feed when I decrease their lettuce. They wouldn't eat anything at first but lettuce, now they're eating a little more feed and a little less lettuce.
Thank you all for the much appreciated advise! Been busy these days but the girls seem to be coming along nicely. I am concerned about the older ones feathers. Since we live on the river, I have to make sure she doesn't have wet feathers or any other damage to her feathers. As you can tell...
Hi there!!! :frow
I believe I may have some baby duck diapers that are brand new. I ordered them earlier this year for my baby goose but because it took so long to receive them, they were too small when they arrived. Let me look around the house, I probably hid them from myself. :confused...
I get my feed from tractor suppy, I can see what can be ordered for me. What's the name of this feed? As for the ramp, I do have some floating boat bumpers I could attach to a ramp so it could rise and fall as needed, I just don't have much knowledge with building.
Hi! We haven't completed a coop as of yet but plan to because all of the duck eggs keep ending up in the river. :barnie So we're planning on building something big enough for the 5 of them and hopefully the girls will lay first thing in the morning before we release them to free range during...
Thank you Miss Lydia!!! Oh how I love your name!!! :D
Now on to business... didn't know if I should post a new thread for my new questions so anyone can chime in if I should, here we go...
Me and my husband decided to bring the other 3 ducks in the garage to get acqainted with Lucy & Lydia...
Hi everyone, my new girls are looking and acting close to normal. They are strong enough to fight over bathing water from their water bucket and overall seem much stronger than they were a couple of days ago.:) My other 3 ducks are patiently awaiting their release into their group and Lucy...
