Hello...I have a flock infest with lice. Pet store sold me cypermethrin (40:60) 100 mg and told me to dilute it in water according to recommendations, and then spray the chickens/coup with it. My question is...how does spraying the chicken will help... their feeders are almost impermeable. The...
Hello. I have raised 12 chiken from egg. They are 3/4 month old. They all live together but I recently noticed that whenever I go do their housing and touch any of them or the structure itself my arms fill up with little (almost microscopic creatures with no colour or darker - black/brown )...
They are not filling on treats.... I visit them every 3 days (i don't leave near) and they eat the leftovers I collected during those 3 days at home. When I arrived every corn I left there 3 days ago is still there
Hello. 3 month ago I received 1/2 month 8 red bald neck roosters. When they arrived I fed them crushed corn and they loved it. They eat it like monsters. Then they got bigger and I start feeding them with corn and some mixed chicken feed. Besides this, they had grass/ cabbages / and leftover...
I have read about introduncing them at night and it makes total sense. One the order hand I fee that the hen kills the chicks once she realize they are not hers
I have 2 mama hens. One of them had her 4 babies 4 days ago, the other one had her babies today (not all of them, still waiting for more). It would facilitate immensely if the first hen adopted these new chicks. Today I tried to introduce a young chick to the first hen but she started picking on...
I don't know the age or race because I have many mixed up. But they are mostly road island red. One of them is very lethargic for several months rarely leaving the coop. Could the egg be from her
I too thought of that immediately. However, the embryo is in the yolk and the yolk seems normal to me. So I don't think it could be a partially developed embryo. but I can be wrong. WE NEED EXPERTS ;)
That's a good back up explanation ;)
I don't even know if this makes any sense but I was thinking, somehow a bacteria ou fungus or whatever was incorporated in the egg and developed into that strange body (witch could be a colloni of bacteria ??)
Hello. Today I found this (arrows of image file) inside this egg. The yolk looks normal, but those 2 strange bodies are so wtf. Can anyone tell me what it is, what is the cause etc? Thank you for your help
Hello. Today I opened this egg and this is what I found. I don't know what could it be. The yolk is normal but the ambumen has those 2 strange bodies. Help, please.
I might add an advantage of broody hens...after the baby chicks hatch, the hen will take care of them, providing everything they need. They will teach them many things too. Of course, baby chicks have a natural tendency to scratch etc but the mother will teach them how to do it, what is safe to...
