    Chickn with a hurt foot!

If you say you can't see any visible signs of injury then it could just be that she stepped on something, twisted it when jumping down off something or got stepped on by another. I have had this happen a few times now with my girls so I'd just suggest that you keep an eye on her for a few days...

    Sick little hen

The heat stress could definitely be the cause since you have pretty much ruled out all other causes. Try to cool her down and here is a link that may give you some ideas of things you can do if it is the heat. http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/search?q=heat+stress Wishing you all the best!

Not sure what to do - seems to be breathing funny

You are doing great! Chickens are pretty hardy critters but I'd say that the heat is probably at the top of the list of what is the hardest thing for them to cope with. Here is a great link to help you in just about any situation - I turned to this blog many times over the years. I'm giving...

    Wry neck in pullet

Hard to say without observing the bird in person. IF it appears as though the bird isn't in pain and not suffering, maybe just leaving it be is best, however if it is from an injury it could cause permanent damage and discomfort down the road. A trip to an avian vet may be in order. Good luck

Not sure what to do - seems to be breathing funny

Not sure where you are or what the weather is there but the heat (heat stress) will cause them to breath like that. If you have a mister you can turn on, that can be beneficial to them, a shallow pan of water that they can walk through or stand in is an idea. Some cold watermelon would be good...

    black on the comb??

Have you tried cleaning the comb with soap and water or Vaseline to see if it comes off? Not sure if the watermelon would be the cause, does she have any other symptoms? Could be something fungal, you could offer her some yogurt, maybe add that extra immunity booster to help her fight off...

help! my chicken was murdered!! :-(

Very sorry to hear of you loss AND that you are getting rid of the dogs. Just a note to others, the dogs CAN be trained to leave the chicks alone, but it takes more than a week or two of training, it takes weeks of serious training and it can even be done using training devices if necessary...

    Lonely Rooster

So sorry for your loss. Not knowing more about your flock and or the roo's other behaviors it's hard to say, it could have been many things.

    Torn comb

Totally agree with KPenley. Sometime the other hens will see the injury and start picking at it, for sure you would need to isolate her if that should occur but if not she will be fine remaining with the flock. Good luck (:

    Torn comb

Looks like an injury that may have occurred in a number of ways. I would clean it and put an antibiotic on it for the next few days or so. Keep an eye on the chick and if that is all it is, it should be fine. Of course there is always the option of taking it to the vet.

    Sick Chick-walking like a duck

One of my girls seems to have a problem. She is acting fine except that her belly seems a bit squishy and she is walking funny, like a duck - she is eating, drinking, foraging and her comb is red and healthy looking - She is 1 of 9 and the rest are fine. What do you think could be the problem?
