As much as I love building coops the ease of being able to buy a coop saves me a lot of time and energy. I would trust a company that is willing to back their product with a 25yr warranty.
My first coop was a pre built coop from a farm store and it didn’t even last a season without leaking...
I just came in to ask about my eggs and if I should be worried about my chicken... 4 chickens 4 white eggs but... one chicken lays brown eggs? Which means one chicken laid 2 eggs and my brown chicken laid none. Second egg was really small. But, we cracked open and there was the perfect little...
Welcome!! I was in the same boat as you! We had no clue! We got chickens for eggs... while I care about getting eggs I like them more as pets! Super fun to watch and if handled a lot super loving!
We now have 4...the limit. We started out with 2. I live in Federal Way
No but, I only have 3. I know for a fact my polish is laying she was around before the other 2. I’ve felt an egg inside of my silkie but never in Pepper.

I have the same question... but different story... no eggs as of yet, very docile and sweet Pepper is around 7-8 months old...hasn’t crowed as of yet... any thoughts ?
Your guess is probably better than mine. I’ve only been a chicken lady since the middle of summer. I thought I had figured it out then I started looking for another chicken to add to my little flock and found 2 other types of chickens that look like her. I guess it doesn’t matter... she is the...
I live in Federal Way. We didn’t get a crazy amount of snow but it was really dry, so when the wind kicked up it blew it right into the bottom of their coop and they didn’t like that one bit...too cold on their feet to walk on the cement. Spoiled girls got royal treatment today.
Does anyone know of any breeders of Pina Pinta’s in Washington... I feel a bit odd asking this but is the breed even in the USA? Everything I look up states that its super rare and from Australia.I am asking because I am trying to figure out the kind of chicken I have... I thought I might have a...
