Last year I had a chick that was missing her top half of her beak just like your roo. I found that the wet mash would get stuck in the bottom half of her beak and I would have to clean it out. Instead of using a mash try using a pellet or a crumble she was able to pick up the bigger pieces...

I add a little garlic to plain yogurt mixed with a little grain as a treat about once a month. ACV I add daily to their water. Water is changed daily or whenever it gets dirty.

I did and so far so good. She choose a create to lay her eggs in and I just left her their and i even added 3 more eggs and 4 chicks. She is outside the coop and so far so good. She is very protective.
