Eissens,
Those are spectacular birds! I wish we had access to such great silvers here in the US. A few of us are working hard each year to catch up!
Beautiful birds, congratulations!

Since this thread was started to locate silver barnevelder hatching eggs, I thought I'd mention that I've listed eggs from by silver barnevelder bantam project on ebay. -Al
poulch,
This is a very interesting observation that I hadn't given much thought to. A few years back many of the hens came out overly black leaving only a small crescent of white showing. For those hens I selected a rooster that had the most visible white areas in an effort to combat the dark...
This was the first year I didn't see any 'red patches' bleeding though. Some of the roos still had a straw coloration on the hackles, but several keepers were snowy white.
Yes, I used silver penciled rocks. I would agree, some of the young hens in the pictures are a little long and lean. Other hens in the group are a little closer to form. I will be sure to consider this in my selection process. Cheers, - Al
Well, the sun came out so I thought I would post some pictures of my 2014 breeding flock of Silver Barnevelder Bantams. These are my 4th generation birds and are busily laying the fifth generation! This year the lacing and Barnevelder type have really improved over last year. I'm looking forward...
