    Raccoon attack! Help!

I’m no expert at all but I wouldn’t put the chicken down. I have one that was attacked by something and her whole side is raw. I bathed her in warm water, blow dried what I couldn’t towel dry and put neosporin on her. I have her in a dog kennel in the house and she is actually looking pretty...

    Lame hen

Thank you - you have it all accurate - I’m glad her spirits are good. She was back with the flock for about 2 weeks when the 2nd attack happened - the chickens seemed to accept her back. I never saw them pecking at her.

The lame hen seemed to really like the soaking in warm water and blow dried and then neosporin - her appetite is good and she drinking ok. She is still limping on that side. The one not eating and drinking is the one I’m worried about now. Thank you for all your advice!

    Lame hen

She was attacked about a month ago and I had her in the house til it was all scabbed over and almost gone. The only thing I can think of is if they pecked at the scab and it bled the would have kept pecking. She laid an egg every day for me when she was in the house a month ago. Now she isn’t...

    Lame hen

She is about 6 months old - thank you for the recommendation of flushing and neosporin ointment. I did that. She is eating and drinking fine. I did reduce the size of the kennel and put her in a single instead of double kennel so she doesn’t have to walk as far to get her food and water. She...
