None of mine were ever black or really that dark. I'll post some better pics of the one in question. Its really a great looking bird in my opinion.- J Gage

Thank you. And yes they are very curious. The Rooster definitely keeps his distance from me, but some of the others are much calmer. I know some are RIR's but as for all the others I'm not sure.- J Gage

Hello from Texas
Just got my first chickens about 10 weeks ago. They were about 2 months old when I bought them. so Hopefully they'll be laying soon. I got the chickens so that my kids could enjoy gathering the eggs like I used to do. Glad to be here. Lots of great info.- J Gage
