My boys showed our chickens this week and recieved all blues. The judge said they were great pullets and were in great health. He said to bring them back next year. They were up for Reserve Grand, but he said they were beat out because the other pullets were a little further along in production...- mcurry

My cat loves trying to bathe the chickens. I tried telling him it's a chicken & not a kitten, but he insisted Colonel Sanders get cleaned lol Colonel Sanders loves my cat too. Odd pair.- mcurry

I believe I have a Frizzle on my hands. Being a noobie I ran here to get info. The two Buff Cochin Bantams I have (ended up being 2 roos) aren't feathering out like any of my other chickens have. I have some BO & some Gold Buffs I took them off the lamp about 4-5 weeks when they started feathering out good. My brooder was in my home. I put them outside about 6 weeks old.- mcurry

I just can't decide between pullet or roo. Was supposed to be pullet, but the comb color had me starting to say roo, but the behavior just doesn't match the one known BO roo in the flock. This one feathered out like the pullets whereas the known roo still doesn't have most lol Any experienced BO...- mcurry

I am putting out a garden for my flocks. Also a garden big enough for us & surplus for market. Going to try my hand at herbs this year and a ton of calendula. It's main ingredient in the salve & soap I use on my daughter's Eczema.- mcurry

Yep dandelions for jelly. It tastes like honey. Dandelions are good for digestion as well as inflamation. You can eat every single part of it root to petal. Greens, salad, jelly, wine, tea & so on. My chickies LOVE fermented feed. We call it fermented candy. If they see the blue bucket in my hand they go crazy and run to the coop door or flock me in the yard. lol It's cute. Yeah I had to break DH heart & tell him that 3 BOs are roo & 2 have to go. He told me to go get more BO pullets because Colonel Sanders is here to stay as well as Uncle Si. Apparently he's named them lol Sooo decision time. I tried explaining that getting chicks could mean more roos accidentally...- mcurry

Parental kill urge is an understatement with dog bites. And I am sorry for the poster that's BO's are missing. I'd be furious as well as worried! Chicks in brooder still clicking when breathing. Still taking Duramycin & Probios. Trying hard to make everyone not touch them & wash hands if they do so it doesn't spread to the other flocks. Frustrating.- mcurry

My DH has me grounded from anymore chick purchases until I finish getting all the brooders empty. I don't understand why he's so upset. The Jubilee Orpington chicks were only going to cost 75 dollars ea. lol- mcurry
