    Gapeworm ?

I have two lovely healthy looking buff orp hens. They have been raised in the house with some time outside to free range and just started laying eggs. I’m concerned because one seems to breathe with her beak open. Doesn’t really seem to be struggling, no gurgling or headshaking, no discharge...

    Multiple Mamas

I have a small flock. 4 Silkie hens, two young buff orp hens and one rooster. They have plenty of space and are free range usually 1pm to 7 pm with the option to go in. I had a broody hen who I decided to let hatch just a few chicks. I candled and marked 4 eggs and collect the others. The...

Skinny chickens. Ivermectin drench for worming and mites/lice

Oh good. Thank you. What if I don’t know what kind if worm? Is there a different dosing schedule for everything but roundworms? Ex: 1 day then 10 days later for roundworms or 3 consecutive days then 10 days later for tapeworm, gapeworm ...etc...?

Skinny chickens. Ivermectin drench for worming and mites/lice

I used 1/4 cc Valbazen today on all the birds. I did notice roundworms (I think they were roundworms) in poop so now I am afraid that I just killed my birds because I keep reading I was supposed to use Wazine first! I’m doing my best here but I am so concerned.

Skinny chickens. Ivermectin drench for worming and mites/lice

I treated my 5 Silkies with Ivermectin cattle drench. They get 4 drops on the skin at the base of their neck. It seems to work good for mites. I also treat their cleaned coop with permethrin. I think they are a little skinny though. I was wondering if Ivermectin treats for worms as well when...

Does putting it on topically worm the birds or does it have to be put in their water?

    Worming Chickens?

I’m confused. I use this topically (a few drops per bantam) for lice/mites...does it worm this way or does it have to be dosed in their water?

    automatic door opener

I just installed the Chicken Guard Premium. It has a sensor mode, timer (12 or 24hr settings), manual or a luxe mode which I believe is any combination. It also locks at the bottom to keep predators from lifting it. The lock releases when the pull that the string is tied to, is lifted. Pretty...

I could use some advice. I have 5 Silkies, one rooster and 4 hens. (He is a very sweet, non aggressive rooster). My birds have access to quality layer pellet 24/7, they get a hand full of scratch in the morning when they come out to free range (they can go back in if they want) and when they...

Why don't my silkies let me touch or hold them when I've handled them daily since a few days old????

I raised my Silkies, 3 of them, from day old chicks, spoiled them, loved on them etc... when they reached 12 weeks or so, they didn’t like to be held. They ate treats from me but I was worried too. When they got about 5 months 2 out of 3 went back to being my buddies. They run to me (treats) and...
