Ohhh yesss! True heritage barred rocks, whiting genetic hackle and onagadori. I've wanted onagadori since I was a kid and finally have the means to get them! Got 3 incubators set up and have ordered a ton of fertile eggs. They are arriving this week!
Both! I am getting back into chickens. Since I left this page, I have moved, gotten married and had a baby! And I am very excited to have our own chickens again!

There is a feed store in Fairbanks? where is it? i go there once in a while. i would rather pack light and fly it down in baggage than pay shipping costs to Dillingham the weight limit IS 50lbs right?
i would do anything to pay less, trust me!
cool! i've never seen it actually done but once i missed it by a second! chicken standing in the box, no egg, fill the water, turn around and there was an egg and no chicken! i was like "i'll be darned!"

hard boil the eggs and then pack sausage meat around the egg and either fry or cook them. i'm sure you can find a recipe for them somewhere.
that sounds delish!
not sure if this helps you, but the smaller, lighter eggs are from Egyptian fayoumis. the bigger brown eggs are from cuckoo marans, red stars and black stars.
fayoumi eggs are considered tinted.
he is SOOOOO CUTE!!!! those poor poor early birds. the first one out is always so lonely. how adorable! i'm glad he found a friend in you, and in the sock!

yeah they just started laying a month or two ago. the cold doesn't seem to bother them so much, we had chickens before but lost them all to a dog attack, and before that from before the time i was born to when i was about 12, then we moved and had to get rid of them all over again...
...my boyfriend and i will be stuck in the house for a month too, so new recipes are a must! i need new ways to cook eggs!
