Help me identify my predator *graphic*

Thanks a bunch. I was thinking it was a coyote. Tonight will be our third night out there with a 20 gauge and we haven't seen one yet. I picked up a couple calls today. A coyote call and a rabbit distress call. I will try that as well. We also picked up a couple claw traps. I don't know why my...

Help me identify my predator *graphic*

In the past we have had problems with hawks while the flock is free ranging but it hasn't been an issue yet this year. We have, however, lost two ducks and most recently, our 3 year old pet turkey. Our neighbor has lost 20 young chickens this spring. He has only recovered the body of one of...

Any ideas on what she is?

I just posted pics of my girls and they're the same as the one pic you posted. The red and white chicks. Mine were at rural king and marked brahma and something else but I can't for the life of me remember what.

    Seeping Wound

She is 7 monts old. We have 6 roosters. They just won't leave my girls alone. :( my initial thought was the roosters spur placement. They're quite violent in their endeavors with the hens. I cleaned it out and applied neosporin. I will keep an eye on her. Thank you!

    Seeping Wound

I have no idea what happened but this poor Orpington was laying in her best when I got home today. She has what appears to be a very deep slice behind her wing that is seeping fluid. We had a hawk last week that took three of my young silkies but I took care of him and haven't seen another...

    New to chickens...help!

Well, I suppose we're chicken farmers now. We started with 6 barred rock chicks (4 of which have proven to be roos), and quickly added many more. Now, with 38 chicks, I've lost track of what breeds we have. Can you help? I know we have 15 silkies, some gold-laced wyandottes, and a couple RIR...
