Well I was pleased to read this thread. We have 17 girls and 1 Rooster-Max. Max has worn the feathers off so many of the girls. Some of them he grabs by the head and they are getting bald too. There are 3 or 4 that he doesn't seem to bother. Our girls run from him when he tries to mount them. He...
Hi Hennible, I hope you get to move and get some chickens. You sound like you will be a wonderful chicken mom. It is life changing really. I had no idea how wonderful is it.
Wow that would be exciting to get that many eggs. Congrats! 3 yesterday for us and 5 today. We were jumping with joy. Chickens are so wonderful. Ours love people so much. They chatter and go on so. I can't imagine ever being without them now.
This week we started getting 3 eggs a day and today 3 this morning and a big surprise with 2 more in the afternoon. Yipee. So we hope to be selling these lovely eggs.
HI there, I realize this is an older post but, I am wondering if you can tell me what is in your "game bird feed".
We are new with our chickens since June and would love to hear what you have to say about their feed. 2 of our 18 girls started to lay last 8 days ago. One gives us an egg each day...

You are so fortunate to have a camera in there. I am afraid I wouldn't get another thing done all day long. :-)). I would love to be able to watch our girls and Max.
Well just how sweet is that curtain ! I have some new material that I was going to make curtains for my sunroom but changed my colour scheme. Powder blue paisley. Guess what I am going to make now. :-))) Our coop is at my business location (our home is next door). I have a rug hooking shop. I...
Hey Two Crows, -------I think I may have been looking at the wrong thing. Someone sent me a pic of what looked like blindfolds but they called them peepers. The chicken could see out the bottom of them only. I don't want blindfolds on Suzie but what you have in the pic looks perfect. I would not...
Thanks Melabella,
We actually have 18 girls and Max our rooster. This is our first time to have chickens. I love them so much. They are so tame and they chat so when they see us and love to fly up on our arms. So far just the 2 laying Melabella. I am so glad to hear it is just not our girls...
