I went through it and it says in the article that bot eggs are firmly affixed to the hair and doesn’t mention different bot flies having different eggs. I think they probably aren’t but eggs but I will still take and post a picture tomorrow just to get a second opinion.
@KikisGirls
I didn’t have my phone on me but I’ll try if they’re back tomorrow. Thank you for the link, they look kind of like the picture in the article but more spaced out and larger and they also aren’t attached to the hair like that. Do different kinds of bot flies lay different eggs...
I went into the pasture today and both my horse and my donkey have small whitish yellowish specks around their legs, and the donkey has some on her head. I looked closer and tried to remove them and I could easily brush them off with my hand. I think they might not be botfly eggs because they...
Any other advice for handling them? They still run away even if I just stick my hand in their container. I’ve tried giving them mashed peas and also carrots that were grated then finely chopped up. If I put the treats on a plate and set it down they’re fine. If I hold the treats in my hand they...
I chopped up my Spanish project to close off their pool so they can’t get out. It’s weird but it works.
I can also set it up outside so they can spend a few minutes outdoors.
Currently I have their pool surrounded with boxes and lids to block them from jumping out. There’s nothing in my garage to scare them except for me so they’ll be fine for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll tape some cardboard around the pool though. How do you guys recommend handling them? They get so...
Okay, so I have them set up in a kiddie pool I bought at Walmart today with their new shavings. I watched them for about an hour, they can’t get out because the sides are too slippery but I’ll have to set up something around it for when they grow. I picked up a heat lamp but I don’t think that...
@MatthewsHomestead
This is one of my ducks- much younger than 8 weeks but you’ve provided a lot of useful info, especially about what I should do with them later on with the high temperatures down here. Thank you!
@Soon2BChixMom
Thank you so much for all of your help. I’ve already made a water dish out of a milk jug with big holes cut in the sides. A stuffed toy might be a good idea! Or a really really cute one at least. I’ve noticed they kind of pick at things so I don’t know if something fluffy would...
@Soon2BChixMom
Okay, so this list is mostly for my personal use/organization but could you please tell me if there’s anything I need to change about it? I’m sorry I’m so lost but here goes:
Tonight I’m going to: Switch their bedding out and move them to my bathroom where it is consistently...
@Soon2BChixMom
My garage is normally warmer than my house but not as constant. My house is almost always 70 degrees but I could keep them in the bathroom. Do I need a heat lamp if I keep them inside? Tractor Supply is far away but are reptile heat lamps like they sell at petsmart okay for...
