Lookinf for advice on convering this to a chicken coop

We divided our shed with a wall just as @MROO mentioned. My shed is an A frame roof so less angles to worry about. Left over hardware cloth blocks off the top half and still allows air circulation. The door was also a scavenged leftover too. My growing zone is 6 borderline 5 so similar-ish...

    Winterizing run options, opinions needed

I have a pack of those elastic things with the ball on them. I remove the ball and use the elastic loop to hold our fence gate open when needed. The elastic lives out in the elements 24x7 and I usually end up replacing with a new elastic every 8 or 9 months, not quite a year. I just had to...

I was training Lulu to “target” or place a paw on things. I asked for one paw on top of the bucket and got a “Hold my kibble!!” All four paws on the bucket.

There’s only room for two on this perch, you’ll have to wait your turn.

Fan Club!!! Sorry, no free Tshirts

I put a barn fan attached to the roof of my run. It kicks on when the temp in the run reaches 80° as measured by a temp/humidity sensor (white thing hanging on the support beam near the coop). Since it points straight down, it's easy for the chickens to move out of the breeze if they desire...

Now in time of plenty, gather and store for times of want.

Can anyone speak to how water glazed eggs are to be hard boiled a few months after being in storage? I know most recommend using them for baking or scrambled eggs but I haven't seen anyone mentioning hard boiling...

Best heated waterer for chickens during extreme cold?

Yes, but that view means no room to expand and I must steadfastly and continuously battle chicken math. 😕

Best heated waterer for chickens during extreme cold?

I use a Premier1 heated waterer year round. The cord detaches from the back and they give you a little rubber cap to put over the port.

    Trimming foot feathers?

The key here is helper. My trim jobs on poopy butt fluff and my poor polish’s top knot are utter hack jobs because I’m always doing it on my own!!

I'm at the end of my rope.

My flock is mixed. I have 7 housed in technically room for 9 or 10. Four are from the original group and are two years old. Three were added spring of last year. I can't free range either. I've treated for mites, I've rehomed (brown leghorns and black Sumatra breeds never ever again), I've...

    Broody??

@DobieLover She’s been doing the broody clucks for about a week or so. There was a day or two where she wasn’t the first one to the treats as she usually is. But she’s back at bowling everyone over like a steamroller to get to the cucumber slices today. And her face/comb are getting redder...

Any one in NY or PA use mulch in their run?

I’ve also seen people posting in local Facebook groups for tree companies to come drop off chips. ChipDrop isn’t very active in my area either and I may just call the company that did our trees to let them know if they are in the area they can dump at my place. My pile is starting to get low...
