When do they reach full size?

My girls are about 12 weeks & about 1/2 to 1/3 the size they will be full grown. They look like fully formed hens, only smaller & their wattles aren't completely grown out or colored in yet.

I just met up with a gal yesterday who I found on craigslist & bought 10 of her processed chickens that she'd raised. We ate one tonight & I have to say it was darn yummy! It tasted rich & chicken-y & it felt so good to know we were eating a bird that had been raised well and healthily! I don't...

    Loophole Allows Chickens

I think a lot of people associate keeping chickens with poverty and/or immigrants-- like "we don't have to keep chickens anymore"-- does that make sense? They think they are dirty & smelly & low class. It's sad, really.

The poor hons look exhausted! I stopped eating store eggs soon after we got our birds. There is a farm just down the road that sells eggs & I can see their hens running around outside happy as can be. I am also in contact with a farmer who is going to raise & process meat birds for us... it's...

My cockatiel is laying more eggs than my chickens!

I was told she lays eggs when I adopted her. I have no idea if the eggs are hollow or not. Good to know about he egg shell. I don't think she will eat it, though. She only eats millet. How long should I leave the egg in there?
