Probably a coyote or two. I had a single coyote kill multiple birds at a time. Before I was finally able to deal with him, I realized he was killing several birds then coming back to collect the bodies one at a time.

Probably just a skink. Don't worry about it. They can't hurt your chickens. Im surprised your chickens don't eat him. I had a rooster that would catch them whenever he could.
What type of lizard was it? If it was your run of the mill skink or green lizard, then it's harmless to eggs and chickens. It was probably eating flies.
Any paticular reason you needed an air rifle over a real rifle? You could have gotten a .17hmr for around 250$ that will dispose of anything coyote and smaller

I agree. A 17hmr is superior to the 22lr especially over 100 yards. Isn't loud and less likely to ricochet.
You could and should. Using a spot light with a red filter may help to conceal your location. If it's coming back every night, you should be able to get it.
