The BLACK stench! Why are my Muscovy eggs turning black before they even go in the incubator?

I have ALWAYS had problems with muscovy eggs turning blue/black. Today I had to throw out 8. I was trying to wait till I had an incubator full before I set it so they were out on my bathroom counter top in a shoe box for 2 weeks from hatch till blue. The ones I threw out did NOT pass the sniff...

20+ Ancona Hatching Eggs- READY NOW!

I spent all my "duck money" on 21 dozen at an auction last week, (when I HAD 4 working incubators) so i'm duck-buying-broke till next month. BTW, I know some people say the freshest eggs are best, but duck eggs should stay "hatchable" for about 2-3 weeks (and sometimes even more depending on the...

HELP FAST!!!! I am new at this!

From what I understand, baby chicks are supposed to be able to survive off their sac for about 72 hours, and it can take that long for them to hatch. How is the humidity? Temp? Some babies just take a little bit longer to hatch. If earlier on the temp was too low, they can take longer to hatch &...

Where can I find parts for my Brower's model 846 tabletop incubator?

I just realized that this sounded confusing. I meant that i could put fiber board on the bottom and maybe a sheet of cardboard on top of that on the 4-day pre-hatch...... not in the top of the incubator, just to protect the fiberboard from poop and afterbirth, so there's less chance of a...

Where can I find parts for my Brower's model 846 tabletop incubator?

Well, after further inspection, we have come to the realization that we need a new heating element; the long aluminum looking wire and plug. Anyone know where I can get one? Can I trade one from a different (styrofoam) incubator? I have one that needs a replaced bottom but the wiring is all...

Where can I find parts for my Brower's model 846 tabletop incubator?

Oh I definitely wouldn't use cardboard on the top. I suppose I could add it on the bottom just before they hatch; I'd just hate the mess on the fiber board. As for the tools, every holiday I buy power tools for my husband (jigsaw, rotary saw, ban saw, oscillating saw, chop saw etc) because one...

Where can I find parts for my Brower's model 846 tabletop incubator?

Sounds like a plan as well. I think the cardboard on top of particle board on the bottom sounds like a good idea so when they hatch, its easy clean up. Ill go to HD tomorrow and try to find the plastic and board. Ill try to keep y'all updated as to how it goes as well as b4 & after pics. THANKS!!!

Where can I find parts for my Brower's model 846 tabletop incubator?

I need to replace the insulation from both the top and bottom. I bought it from an auction and i'm guessing it had been left out in the rain or something; prior to the auction. I will definitely go the cheapest and most efficient route such as with the cardboard; THANKS!!! Do you have any ideas...
