Well I had five (all descended from feral chickens) I suspect all are bantam related. Thee were layers (Henrietta, and two black and orange, Henny Penny and Chicken Little) and the other two, another all black (Chris P) that was given to us as a rescue chick, and a Red one (Tikka). Tikka...
There are so many tartans in any Clan to choose from, it's often very difficult to make a choice. The MacDonald (which is the correct spelling BTW) Clan being such a huge clan, have over 30 tartans. Yes it would be really fun to meet up for a coffee, and talk about Scots and chickens, which we...
@NorthFLChick Yes it really is a small world. I have relatives in Orlando, and my best friend lives in Melbourne. I also have ex-band members who live Maitland and Port Charlotte, and an old lover who lives in Jupiter. Time permitting, I try to get to see them all whenever I visit...
LOL!!! Yes on both sides of my family. My mother was a Taylor, and there is an enclave of Centers in Aberdeenshire. So I'm guilty as charged!
Good to meet you, we Scots need to stick together. So where in North Florida are you? I have friends in Florida whom I visit occasionally.

Her eggs are whiteish, about two inches long and an inch and 3/8ths wide, on the small side, but typical for a bantam I suppose. Her legs seem a little on the green side I think, but hard for me to tell as I have nothing to compare them to. I have now identified her as an Old English Game...

Yes I am now convinced! Thank you so much for your input. With so many feral chickens about cross-breeding is a real problem when trying to identify a breed. I think I have my answer. Thanks to you all.

I just went and did seach for "Game" and found a bird that looks almost identical, that's the closest I've come so far. Thanks for your suggestion.

I need help to identify this breed. I'm not hopeful because her line started out as a feral chicken which is quite a problem here. There is so much cross-breeding you get a truly beautiful chicken, but no way to tell their breed. Anyway if anyone wants to take a stab at it, here ya go...
Hi there... I live in Bermuda and the problem is as big as it ever was. I have five chickens in my cooped flock, the parents or grandparents of which started out as feral chickens. With all the cross-breeding, it makes determining breed more than a challenge. The Government has now taken to...
