Hello, i'm new to button quail and a proud grandpa of 5 button quail chicks. :weethey were hatched naturally by their mother and now I'm not sure if i'm suppoesd to feed them or their mother is supposed to show them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
I have a button quail pair and recently the female started sitting on some eggs. She has chased the male to the other side of their enclosure and chirps at him when he gets near her nest. Just yesterday I found him outside of their enclosure (I keep them as inside pets). I'm guessing she chased...
Hello I recently bought a pair of button quails and was wondering if it is safe to buy a second fenale because having one female is not working out so good. I read that they like to live in trios? So is it safe to add a female? They've been together since the 15th of this month.
Any idea on when they start laying eggs? Hello I have a production red pullet that should be of laying age in September, but that's a guess. Around what time did yours start laying?
Sounds great! Mine are very tame, but the problem is the egg laying because they lay too little and small eggs. I recently bought a production red pullet to make up for the eggs but might need to sell some of my chickens for space. I'm thinking about selling them except for the chick with the...
This whole time I thought he was a cochin. I looked at images and some did come up like him. So you say he's a mix of cochin and something else? I don't have anymore right now, but i'll post later on my free time. I do have this one of my little flock.
I have a Cochin Bantam Cockerel that I can no longer keep. He is very tame and healthy. He is a year old and I bought him along with some hens in a nusery [Magnolia Bird Farm].
One of my chickens did that for a while. The same spot every time so I put her eggs in the nest and left them there for a day. That way she would learn to lay in her nest. She hasn't looked for another place ever since.
Thank you so much. I'm not sure about the second one....... I have noticed that it is way smaller than the first one. It may belong to my shorter chicken (chicken close to rooster) because of the size. The two close to the rooster are the odd ones because one has a short stature and the other...
Hello I have 2 Cochin Bantam chicks which I bred and incubated. They will be 7 weeks tomorrow! I was hoping that someone could help me sex them. Thank You.
