    4250 farm innovations incubator question

I have the exact same incubator... for part A there should be a plastic mesh screen (not metal). For part B they’ll possibly roll together as soon as you set them in but eventually they’ll all be wedged against something and won’t move. Everything will be just fine I wouldn’t worry about them! 🙂...

    Can't find middle temperature.

Assuming you have chickens the temp in the incubator is safe anywhere from 99.5 -100.5

Newborn chickens disrupting the other pipping chicks

Leave the chicks in! They actually entice the other eggs to hatch .. as strange as that sounds. It doesn’t hurt the other eggs whatsoever!

Speaking of TSC chicks, sell out this year too ?

Our TSC has had chicks for a few weeks now and they haven’t seemed to be selling very fast. At other farm stores they seem to be selling at a normal pace... could be just my location but that’s my experience. Got 4 batams from TSC a few days ago! They had a very good selection.

    Chick that doesn’t walk

The chick has never been able to straighten his legs and walk. I’ve checked and it appears that the tendons are in place.. I’ve tried hobbles... makes the situation worse. I’ve also taped the toes but it didn’t correct the problem. When I taped the toes and tried hobbles it just stopped trying...

    Chick that doesn’t walk

I have a chick that is a little older than a week.. the other chicks are almost triple the size of this little guy ... he also has curled toes and walks on his knees. It seems like he eats and drinks occasionally. It appears that he’s not as active though.. tends to lay around and sleep but will...

Do you think they would still tear the vinyl up if there was a trim around the edges?

    Any advise on premature chick?

Have you tried feeding sugar water and also raw egg yolk to get the nourishment he needs?

    Duck house

I think I understand what you mean but I’d like to use this metal swingset frame because I already have it laying around.

    Duck house

During the spring/summer it would be similar to a chicken tractor so it would be moved daily. Winter time it would just stay in one spot. I’ve seen some people use vinyl flooring what are your opinions on that?

    Duck house

I have a metal swingset frame which I figured would make a good portable coop/ run.. what’s the lightest way to make it? I’ve seen other forums where people recommend cement floor vs wood but that wouldn’t be possible. Any other flooring suggestions?

    Duck house

I’ve never had predator problems during the day with any poultry. Maybe that’s just luck? I pin up my chickens at night so the same would apply to the ducks.

    Coyotes

That’s strange. We never have coyote problems here during the day.. maybe it’s just a matter of location?

    Coyotes

I pin mine up at night ... I have a wood floor so they can’t dig into it and I have a solid oak door that I can padlock if necessary. Never had trouble with coyotes coming around the coop/run. They know they’re not getting a free meal ;) We’ve had coyotes walk right through our yard but zero...

    Duck house

I’m planning on getting a couple of ducks. I’m wondering if anybody has attempted to make a light weight portable duck house/ run that can with-stand all 4 seasons and below negative temps in winter.
