6 week Australorp - potential blockage?

Glad to hear Dolly is doing well! <3 Looking real cute too! I don't have much info to contribute here (as a newbie chicken mother), but I know how difficult it can be to figure out what's wrong with the clock ticking, especially if your vet is giving you questionable advice. Good job on seeking...

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

Thank you so much :( This was really, really comforting to read and I'm sorry about the hens you've lost. I agree - I noticed most people who raise chickens here (I'm from the Philippines by the way!) don't really regard chickens as pets. They're usually raised as a form of livelihood or for...

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

Yes. It feels so strange when I think about how lively she was just last week. So much can happen in 5 days. We keep some, we lose some. I'm just happy I got to spend 3 wonderful months with her

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

Thank your for all your advice. Am learning a lot. Didn't know what the exact mechanism underlying sulfa-based antibiotics treatment for parasites was, so I appreciate your detailed explanations! The trickiest thing here for me was not really knowing exactly how to help Tokay. I think I asked...

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, Tokay passed away earlier this afternoon :( She seemed to be doing better this morning. I was already feeling more hopeful about the things we could do to help her get better. However, she declined rapidly later in the day. At around noon, she let our a panicky chirp and...

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

Thank you! This morning her crop was full of water, so we massaged it and tipped her over so the liquid would come out. However, we've been advised against it by the vet. I've taken away her food and water and will observe. There are a couple of tiny critters that crawl on her feathers (ant-size).

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

Thank you! Okay, keeping the food and water away first. It is 7:30 pm here so she's fast asleep. She is actually the smallest among her batch of chicks. Even the batch one week younger than her has outgrown her in size. We were wondering if she had something inborn or maybe an anatomical issue...

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

That was my theory too. We don't have access to a vet nearby, so I described her symptoms to a vet online on day 1. The working diagnosis given was coccidiosis, for which sulfa based antibiotics were advised. However, her set of symptoms changed yesterday - that's when she began expelling clear...

    HELP! Vomiting chicken!

Hello! My 3-month-old chick, Tokay, stopped eating two days ago and seemed more lethargic than usual. We think we saw blood in her droppings so we were advised to put her on sulfa-based antibotics to treat coccidiosis, which we adminstered orally and mixed with her water (we also separated her...
