It is a bread and butter pickle recipe. Super easy I know it off top of my head. Slice cucs and put 1/2 cup salt on them let them sit three hours and rinse. Then warm up hot but not boiling 3 cups water, 3 cups ACV, 3 cups sugar add the 6 quarts sliced cucs, 2 onions , 1 Tbsp each tumeric...
Made sweet pickles today and a loaf of sourdough. Don't judge my sourdough, I broke my arm in two places last year and my starter died. I'm just getting back into the swing of things, so she isn't the prettiest, but by golly very yummy!
Oh no! That's awful!! We didn't get that much. Ours was a slow rain but lasted for days and just stopped. Glad your pullets didn't get hurt. You really have had your fill this year and could use a break.
It separates the water out of the tomato so you don't have to cook it down as much for sauce etc. I don't do it for stewed tomatoes since I want the liquid with the tomato. Raw packing meat is the easiest canning. It doesn't look pretty, but it is shelf stable and easy to use.

Canned some apple pie filling - 1 quart is in the freezer it siphoned to much and the lid was up. I'm going to make fried hand pies with that one soon.
If you have a KitchenAid there is an attachment for it that I use. It pretty efficient. I keep my older food mill since it's always a good idea to have non electric options.
Unfortunately no. I do know whatever they are they make excellent sauce. I don't pick a lot because I don't live in the development it's in, so don't want to press my luck.
Canned applesauce - there is an abandoned orchard by me so picked two buckets. It does have an owner who apparently lives out of the country. It's a well kept secret in our town that you can get apples there that haven't been sprayed. Going to make some apple pie filling tomorrow and can that as...
