    2-Black Australorp 2-Welsummer 2-Buff Orpington 2-Ameraucanas They were 3 day old chicks bought from a local garden nursery. My guess is they are from Cackle Hatchery. g on 7 weeks old.

    My wife and I live in western NC. A lovely place with a mild climate and beautiful surroundings. We currently have 8 6 week old chickens, 2 dogs and one honeybee hive along side our 4 raised bed gardens. Thanks for all of the knowledge and experiences shared here

    Automatic doors, dusk and lighting?

    Thanks for all of the responses! Does anyone care for swing open door vs guillotine style automatic doors. I believe that we could make both work. Also regarding security? Has anyone had trouble with predators prying doors open?

    Looking to revive this thread with a question for those who posted about automatic doors: what brand of door did you purchase? How is it holding up? Solar or Electrical run to coop? Timer or photo-sensor? Looking for your advice and experience!
