I put her in the warm bath and started rubbing her abdomen. I felt the egg. She was egg bound. She started flapping her wings and I was excited the egg was coming out. However, instead....she went to heaven. We are all pretty devastated right now. I told my son that at least he held her close...
Now I am second guessing myself if I felt anything. This morning was the first time I have ever checked for an egg in a sick hen/pullet. I put my finger in (gloved and well lubricated) and went straight back. I didn't feel anything but what if I didn't do it right.
I went back a couple inches...
Thank you SO MUCH for trying to help us. I googled it and tried with a glove and lubrication and I didn't feel anything. She does have a tad of poop on her vent that looks wet so my gut feeling is she is going to the bathroom. Any other ideas? My son is holding her in a blanket and her eyes are...
I went out and let the girls out of coop (4 bantams (2 -2 years old and 1- 1 year olds all girls) and honey didn't come out. I thought she was being lazy so I picked her up and put her outside with the others but she just laid there. I dipped her beak in water and tried to get her to eat...even...

Wow my post vanished.
So, 2 questions...
1) does the no crow collar really work? I'm in suburb with neighbors close by.
2) could I put a RIR roo over silver Easter eggers to get sex links or would that only work with the barred rocks?
Easter eggers:
I tried a different hatchery as I usually use MPC. What a mistake.
I might try to keep one of the RIR cockerels to put over my 2 barred rock pullets. But, does anyone know if the no crow collar really works? I'm in the suburbs with neighbors close by.
Also, would a RIR cockerel over silver...
Out of the 8 living chicks, that's only two out of 8 pullets. I can't believe it. They better give me a refund as I don't want anymore chicks from them. :-(
Yes, they threw an extra chick in for 9 but one died. They adjusted ship date to April 4th.
Here is my invoice:
4 | 368 | Rhode Island Red Bantam | $4.00 | $49.00
Chicken Gender: Pullet (female 1 DAY OLD) +$7.00...
Chicks 1-3 may be different in 2nd session as I had put them back after first photo session. So, please refer to photo session 1 or 2 to help me sex!
Thank you, everyone for all your help!!!!
Argh. I was hoping I would be wrong. Yes, sexed pullets. I just posted my RIR chicks from same hatchery. I have no clue in regard to those chicks as this is my first time with RIRs.
