Day old $1 then add $0.25 per week. Hatching Eggs $0.30 each.
the main thing is finding the type of market you have. I do well selling point of lay hens then cover costs on the Cocks. Some places have good eating egg markets, some God meat markets.
1m per 5 females. Only ever culled 1 male and 1 hen out of about 150 males and 750 females for temperament. That ratio is the same in every penny regardless of the birds. Very few issues.
I have just over 30 rheas at the moment. Greys are hardier, whites are more fragile. They eat normal chicken food and grass/weeds. Minimum of 1/10th of an acre for an adult pair. Carpet for the first 4wks on the floor. 1m to up to 6f. Males hatch and rear chicks. Or u can use an Incubator...
I have 6 pairs of buttons and a pair of harliquins in a 4.5ft by 1ft pen and they all get along fine and lay well. I feed all of mine chick crumbs (i feed them turkey crumbs when i can but it is out of season at the moment).
Tuxedo roo over normal hens has given you the Tibetan colour and then any white will have come from the roo. You don't have to have an am/English white in there to breed tuxedos you just need something that has white in it ie: tuxedo.
Hi, does anyone know whether chuckas and barbary partridge will lay under lights. I know my quail and chickens will but I didn't know if chukar had been domesticated enough to lay under lights.
